Default Solid flywheel convertion being made for 2.2 petrol.

There's a lad on another forum I use who's getting a solid flywheel mate for his 2.2 F23 box. I'll keep this updated with any costs that come into it.

For the doom mungers out there, the 2.2 petrol has run a solid flywheel in the F23 box for years, its only in the Vec C that they fitted a DMF.

Think its a different kettle of fish for oil burners mate. 2.2 petrols don't really make the torque to trouble the drive train, plus the F23 box was made for a solid flywheel originally, but i'd imagine your F40 was built for DMF's from the start. A member had just welded his DMF up on his CDTi, so time will tell.

No mate your right. Mines on 85k with no problems. The only one I've heard of is the chap who's having it done.

The DMF for the F23 is really thick compared to the solid flywheel in the F23. I believe its just a case of getting a spacer made.

There's a 2.2 VX220 on there who took his F23 off and fitted a F40 with a honda solid flywheel and spacer.

Is there any indication from Vauxhall that they're going to knock the DMF on the head or are they just going to carry on developing it?

DMFs are used in models made by pretty much all manufacturers, there's nothing specific to Vauxhall about them.
