    Default New Vectra

    Hi,

    I currently have a 54 plate 1.9 cdti 150 and am seriously considering getting something around 57 plate facelift Vectra with the same engine but Sri spec.

    Are the newer facelift Vectra's any more reliable than the older Vectra's or will I get the same problems (Air Inlet Manifold - DMF - Etc.)???

    Would appreciate comments from anyone who has gone from pre-facelift to facelift Vectra.

    Not on a 57 mate problems were sorted 07 on

    Had quite a few problems with the Veccy I have and not keen on buying into them again.

    DMF, please explain how the problem with the DMF was sorted with this engine, as my friend with a 58 plate 150 would like to know why his flywheel needs replacing at 38,000 miles.

    Don't know about dmf or flywheel but the manifold was

    I remember reading somewhere that the injector wiring clips were changed to ones that had a better fit too. (Blue ones I think)

    Thanks David I think most cars will need a clutch at some point so theres not a lot you can do really unless they invent an indestructable one

    the common problems with the cdti still goes on,there wasnt any
    modifications that vauxhall have done on them or the manufacturer of
    these parts so the common problems will remain an on going thing im afraid.

    If you're going from a preface to the 07 SRi, be prepared to continually notice all sorts of little things that arent included. I went from a 53 2.2SRi (via some horrid Peugeot) to a 58 1.9 SRi150 XP. OK, I gained the flakes and bodykit, but it appears to be missing things like paint under the boot carpet, self dimming rearview mirror, the wiring for rear electric windows, a rear air vent, third headrest, and various other little trim pieces. The only piece of interior trim I've noticed that was added is the rear courtesy light. Woo.

    All of that said, I've had it for 2 1/2 years now, it was an ex-Entreprise rent-a-car, I've put 30k on it, and all I've had to do is rear brake pads, tyres and services..
