So long as it passes the emissions
However ask at a MoT station (that you don't use) if they now check a DPF is fitted, where it should be

As a 2005 Vectra C, why does yours have a DPF?

I'm a MOT tester and as long as it passes it emissions it should be ok, have you tried regenerating it? by taking it for a good thrash up the motorway??? for 30-40 miles??? as if your not doing the mileage they do tend to clog up quite quickly. it does'nt say on the MOT computer if the vechile was fitted with one at the factory so when they log on, too put in the details of your car it should'nt really matter. So if you want to take it off and have it remapped then go for it. use a replacement down pipe off a SRi and nobody will be able to tell the diffrence if you ask me!
