My MOT isn't due until 3rd Feb but i'm thinking to taking it in early, to give me time to fix all the bits it'll fail on. What's the earliest i can take it in before it affects the original test date? I.E. I want next years test date to be 3rd Feb.

We advise our customers not to do a pre MOT as its a waste of their money.

You could fix all the problems and when it goes in again it gets picked up on other stuff.

I bet most garages prefer owners not to do an MOT early - the less time you have to get failure items sorted, the less likely you are to shop around and get a good price, or wait for a dry weekend and fix it your self.

I hear ya buddy. It's going in next week for its MOT, period. Just like you say, there's albeit a slim chance of a dry day to do the work. It's not having a pre-MOT. I'm not daft, the garage will probably try and charge me for stuff i don't need anyway so i may as well have 7 days to check and get it sorted.
