    Default cdti taxi 120 or 150 ?

hi, i'm looking for a 58/09 plate vectra diesel to use as a taxi. As my main concerns are economy and reliability should i be looking for a 120 or 150 model ? Do the 150's still have problems ? Grateful for any advice as i've had vw's for years and know very little about vectras. Just cant ignore what good value they seem to be anymore.

Both have the usual dmf & egr issues, the 150 (16v) has the additional swirl valve issue, although if you blank the egr off... the swirl valve issue is less likely to raise it's head.

An automatic, signum, or estate will have a Diesel particulate filter (DPF - like the 407's have) so go for a manual hatch. I'd advocate a 120 if your slogging round town rather than a 150.

Daft as it sounds, try to get an elite or design model as they will have the interior lamps in the back, rear electric windows (you can lock out) and the smaller (cheaper!) 16" wheel tyres than the SRI.

the elite & design have a minimum of 17" wheels

thanks for all your speedy replies and advice. I think a 120 would best suit my needs, and seem to be plenty around. I seem to remember reading something about water pumps failing and taking the cambelts with them on certain vectra models, but i could have got that wrong. But they just seem great value secondhand.

120's no swirl valve problem no DPF to worry about.

You will want economy been a taxi so not bothered about speed the 120 suits you well.
