Could be pieces of grit lodged between pads and discs, It looks like you will have to strip them down and clean them. Don't be surprised if you don't see anything as it only needs a small piece of grit to cause the problem. Either that or the garage never changed the pads.

Hard to say without seeing them. If it is only a liight groove and they were new ones I would probably clean and re-use but as I say difficult to give an answer without seeing them.

Lack of copper grease on the sliders and missing spring can cause squealing , but there is a groove on the disc, which makes me think it could be grit lodged between the pad and disc.

The other thing it could be is there is a small dust gaurd between the hub and disc, which, if you look at it from the back of the wheel, sits at the bottom of the hub. Sometimes this can start rubbing on the disc and causing a squealing/ rubbing sound. The remedy for this is usually bend it gently away from the disc using a long screwdriver or lever. this should be enough to dislodge any grit stuck in there. I would try this first before you do anything else, as it is a fairly common problem.
