What engine is on the SRI?
Personally, I wouldn't as the springs / shocks don't have a very long life, one of the first parts to wear out
However fully inspect them for rust / corrosion
Even the smallest sign and say no

No... your diesel is quite a bit heavier on the front than a 1.8 petrol, you need the correct weight rated springs for a diesel

    Hi
I changed my 2002 diesel front shocks and springs to Monroe reflex a month ago, but have seen problems with the spring coming out of the correct lower cup mounting slot. It doesn't go anywhere - just causes a lot of clunking noises. I'm not sure how it does this, as I would think it is always under compression. Should the springs be tied somehow to the lower shock mounting to stop them rotating - or am I missing something here? I think i read somewhere here about plastic caps on the springs?

I've got monroe shocks and lesjofors springs and the sam happens. I think it does on the vx OE stuff too.... its just the design FUBAR!! BUt I thought exactly the same myself......as the top rotates freely why isn't the bottom of the spring secured so it cant twang/clunk???? then the top gets to move as the spring compresses and decompresses....
