    Default Hello

    Hi peeps,
New to the forum, and 1st post, i am in the process of purchasing a signum, i have looked a couple and but can't decide between a diesel or petrol and manual or auto, is the fuel consumption for a diesel that much better than the petrol that it off sets the price at the pumps.
I have had a look on the forum for buying tips and problems to be aware of, but can't seem to find any info, so to that end, any tips would be appreciated.
What are the different trim levels/names.
    Thanks in advance,
    Phil.

    Default Undewhelmed.

    Hi,
I must admit to being a little underwhelmed by the response to my post, i have been a member of the Rover 75/ MGZT forum for a number of years, and this sort of request would have brought about a plethora of advice.

hi Phil welcome to Vec-c signum rules ......
depending on what miles you do if you need to get a deisel or petrol ..same as any other manufactorer really ..

I personally went for the 2.8T for speed and power ..was in elite spec ...which has all the toys ..but soon put it on a more race spec suspension .
not an ideal car if you need 3 seats at the back as the middle seat is not for long distances .

yesterday there was also problems with the server ..so probibly not so many members to say hi and welcome .

Welcome. The diesel economy definately outweighs the cost at the pumps and the extra purchase cost unless you do very few miles but there are some very nice and fast petrol ones out there, but the diesels are not slow.

Personally I have a 1.8 petrol but wish I had the diesel!

If you've got deep pockets, or don't do too many miles the petrol 2.8T is a hoot. Otherwise go for the diesel 3.0 V6 CDTi. Apart from when you fill it up you'd never know it was a diesel. I had one & it was definitely no slouch!
