Default Red DVLA V5C log book?

Sorry for the stupid question but.... i bought my first vectra last month and the V5 log book came through from the dvla this morning. Its been a few years since i bought a car but this log book is weird red version (i'm used to the old green type). It also has 'document is not proof of ownership' printed all over it. Am i supposed to do something with the red copy to get a proper/green log book or is this the new logbook?

It is a bit of a farce the change in colour
My previous one was blue and apart from the colour change is identical!

The change to blue was to avoid confusion with driving licences, was blue not obvious enough?!?

Equally, a V5 is just a record of the registered keeper, not the legal owner
It is about time an owners record was also included
Sadly yet another bit of paper, but it is about time this was included

Forgot about that, either the thieves were lucky or knew about what was in the bags!
Equally, that was a few years ago now, just shows how slow this country is in correcting and dealing with such things

Yeah thats what the covering letter said when I got a replacement for the Logbook on the GTE..

Surprising really, I haven't had a replacement for the 2008 Vectra yet, but I have for a 20 year old Astra.. I'd have thought in order of priority for ringing and forging etc, they'd get the newer ones out first. After all, it's not like you could make a lot of ill gotten profit off of a stolen/rung 1990 Astra GTE convertible by forging the documents..

There is more than just the vehicle information on a V5, priceless in the right (or wrong) hands
Can also be resold to mailing lists, etc
