    Default fiesta rear bumper protector

hi guys, does anyone know a good place to get one of these. some young lad ran into the back of my mums car over a year ago and at first didnt appear to have caused any damage but over time shes noticed the paint at the very top of the bumper has started to flake, long story that i wont go into regarding the insurance but for the price of having the rear bumper re painted i was going to get a rear bumper protector like i know some of us have on our vectras. ive looked on ebay and there silly money, ok i know there still cheaper than having the bumper re painted. i would just remove the flaked paint and fit this so it looks better than it does now, thanks peeps.

Flaking paint has always been an issue on the bumpers of the Ford Fiesta
It then appears to be worse on a respray and only lasts up to 3 years

What date was the insurance claim?
Check with the policy documents, claim and cover to see how long the repair is covered for
They vary between 1 and 5 years
Equally, the original repairer should be able to advise and if out of warranty may be willing to assist

the damage at first wasnt too bad, my mum was sat at a junction with a guy wainting behind her, young lad in a big hire van hit both cars (i wasnt there so only have my mums side of the story) but young lad caused damage to both cars. my mum told insurance a few months went by then the young lads boss claimed he wasnt driving that night and couldnt have been there, hence the 12 month or more now and nothing been sorted, at first there wasnt much damage to my mums car but over time the paint has just come away. its in the hand of the insurance now i think but my mums getting miffed off with it, hence why i offered to buy said bumper protector and tidy the car up abit for her, ive bitten off more than i can chew mind, the car feels like sand paper to touch haha i hope this clay lark works lol

That's very poor by that insurance company
They will normally authorise repairs and then settle the matter later
Personally, after any accident I always advise the insurance company that it is no longer in a roadworthy condition (ie it would fail MoT or roadside check)

The legal cover can then be used once the repair has been completed to recover any other costs
