    Default Front Splitter Problems (Clearance)

Does anyone else have the same issues with ground clearance? I have a preface irmscher (sri bumper) splitter fitted and i constantly have problems with it scraping the ground when going over speed bumps, down ramps that suddenly level out and multi story car parks! I keep getting grief off the wife when out shopping because there are certain areas i know i cant go to lol! So she is like "Why did you buy the stupid thing? It doesn't even do anything!!"
Buuutt it does look the buisness and i think the car would look somewhat "naked" if i removed it!

My car is on the standard 17" SRi wheels and standard suspension. I want to upgrade to bigger wheels when i can so will this alter the ride height or will the lower profile tyres compensate for this?

Your not alone. I've got a Sri with standard alloys / tyres.
I can't park in my old mans driveway as it slope's down when you enter it. First time after I fitted it I drove in it scrapped all the way down the drive.... :/ I leave it out on the road now. Probably why the standard splitter is rubber lol..
Speed humps depend how high they are. Some I can come at from and angle and clear, others I just dont try...

If you get the right tyres for the alloy size then it wont, as they'll be 1% or so difference. you have to think of the speedo reading to if get bigger profile.

Mines on 19's with 40 drop, mine catches on drive just, and ive dug out the gravel channel twice... i just put up with it as its only underneath, and my mate sorts it every spring for free!

So what profile tyre do you have on your 19's? I would like 19's as i think they look great but have heard horror stories about snowies cracking if they hit a large pothole due to the low profile rubber! Ive had cars with 18's and 40 profile rubber with no problems in the past so may compromise

35's, and I've hit loads of pot holes in mine. You know, the type that make you grip the steering wheel and lift your arse off the seat while pulling a face lol... but mine are fine.

But its one of those things, few have had cracks so the stories go round... I also have a 2.2 with never any driving chain issues, so i must just be lucky.
