Antex is generally regarded as the best. 15 Watt, Smallest tip, small vice, tweezers and good eyesight.

For the car I have a butane gas one which has served me well, got it from Maplins years ago, think they still sell them.

Really guys , you want to use an iron on a circuit board that you cannot adjust the temperature on? Absolute madness if you ask me , I have 25 years experience in this industry and would only use a viarable temperature controlled iron on circuit boards. These other irons are fine for soldering wires , but not delicate components.

get your self a low wattage iron and it should be ok. a professional will use an adjustable temp one but i have had no problems using my 12W iron on circuit boards. i got it in maplin for about £25 a couple of years back
