Kwik fit service and MOT.... Any good???

My MOT is due next month and came across the kwik fit website

To MOT and interim service my 3.0 V6 Signum using Mobil 1 oil would cost £135, seem like a good price or once they have my car in is it nomal practice for them to start finding things to boost the bill

would like some feedback on other members experiences before I book her in

I wouldn't trust them as far as i could kick them. They royally bolloxed my Alfa and ended up with a big bill for a steering rack and PAS pump, only went in to get my tracking done! They managed to damage the boot over the track rod, then followed PAS fluid ****ing everywhere and knackered the pump when it ran dry.

I worked for KF for 7 yrs there service has picked up over the years but be careful to my knowledge this is not all of them but some dont replace oil filters especially if they are paper as customer never knows oil is some times substituted with 10 40 bulk oil.. Also if they offer to track your car decline as gauges are treated like s*** and are often incorrectly calibrated and thats is they actually adjust it not just carck nuts off and copper slip.. As i say its been a while but these things do happen not in all centres but enough..

If the v6 is a diesel its needs looking after and don't use them. When I had my heavily tuned saab I found a great independent saab guy was the best, pity he sodded of back to oz. Anyway find good independent to look after your car much better worth a few quid more, its prob cheaper than them anyway. Just my view

be prepared for them going over your car saying you need this replaced you need that replaced and its going to cost you x amount i wouldnt bother if i was you not worth the hassel of the big sell they give you as they will they have to meet their targets

I program my satnav to avoid driving past them let alone visiting lolol.
No seriously, they're terrible. I asked them to fix a puncture when I lived in Wirral. I got the tyre back with a slower puncture.
I asked them to fix my wobbly back box at another branch in Wirral - I got a blowy back box back.
Thinking they couldn't possibly all be bad, I took my car into Bury for a compete tracking, and the tracking was still out when I got it back.
Useless.

kwik fit no , but I found the Halfords service and mot very good and with good online discounts.
