Is this right or is there somthing wrong. Basically the missis is complaining that the car (150 cdti) is using to much fuel she did 65 miles to work and back around 4-5 miles of town then the rest is motorway and used 10 pound worth of derv thanks

Tell her to try taking it out of 4th next time
Lol she a steady driver never goes over the speed limit sits at 70 on cruise and uses 6 gear lol
Is the car warming up?
Yer sits around 80 with heaters on
hmm - warms up quick?
Should sit at 86 degrees and not take too long to get there.. Common miss-conception is that the diesels take a LOt longer to heat up which is wrong.
1.9 cdti had a thermostat change in the last few years that corrected such issues... A new stat includes a CTS which can also cause excess fuel usage.
tell her to sit at 60 instead of 70. She'll save a shed load of fuel.
Doesn't sound too bad overall to be honest. A tenners worth of fuel is about 7 litres, 4.5 litres to the gallon so roughly 1.5 gallons and you did 70 miles, that's 47mpg roughly mostly at 70mph and some round town driving.
"Doing a good job here is like wetting your pants in a dark suit, you get a warm feeling but nobody else notices"

That's what I thought seems about right will say half way filling the car be better off than putting a tenner in a day also would changing the fuel filter help its never had one and on 54k now
