Default Are chrome strips easily removed?

I'm wanting to spray all my chrome door/boot strips black to match car. Bearing in mind I'm no body work professional. More like a complete amateur. But I want to try and save myself a few quid. So, could I remove all these parts by myself and spray them or do they need to be sprayed on the car?

    Cheers

Nice. I'm wanting to do my grill and window strips too. Basically all the chrome like youve done. Did you spray it all on the car. Grill and all. And did you use a spray paint out of halfords or somewhere like that, or a compressor with spray gun.
