new car question

hi all, after 6 years i am finally getting rid of my vec gsi and am looking for a signum 1.9cdti 120bhp 8v model. i would like to hear from anyone who has that model about anything i should look out for specific to that car. i have my eye on a 55plate with 67k on!

Will it not have all the same problems to look out for on the Vectra 1.9?

I have the 1.9 8v in Vectra form. I am really quite happy with it. You may find it is sometimes a struggle to start first thing on a morning, no idea why, but a few heats on the glow plugs (doing it each tiem before the glow plug light goes off) sorts mine no bother. The 8v also doesn't have the swirl flap problem thingy that the 16v does, so it's a case of the usual DMF rattle (apparently not a big issue) and the EGR clogging. However, remember that the Signum WILL have a diesel particulate filter, and these can be troublesome and expensive.

Ive had my 2.2 direct Signum for 4 years 60000 miles; non engine specific issues have been minimal, exhaust bracket fails, and damper on glove box has failed. Apart from usual wear and tear, tyres etc, its been great.
