Looking for some advice.
Having owned my 55reg 2.2 Direct SRI for a few weeks now everything has been more or less fine with the car until the last couple of mornings. i did an oil / filter / plug change last Sunday and on Thursday / Friday of this week upon starting the car there is a pronounced rattle for 1 / 2 seconds which then immediately dissappears.
Am i right in thinking this is the cam chain tensioner? I thought the issues with thses failing early (car only covered 41.5K miles now) had been resolved on the 22YH engine?
Assumng it is the tensioner how quickly is it likely to fail? Am i safe to run the car? Cant see it being anything that i have caused as a result of the service? Engine running nice Mobil 10w40 oil.
Can someone also give me an idea of what its likely to cost to get this sorted? Assuming there is no point in doing the tensioner without doing the chains at the same time. Is it an easy enough job to do or should i just let dealer do it and be done with it?
Sorry for all the questions.....
