im gona remove my dpf on weekend to give it a good jetwash (few reasons) would it be better to take car for a quick spin to warm up exhaust to make the nuts easier to undo ,without burning yourself and when putting it back on would i need to use some sort of exhaust gasket paste cheers

I would do it cold an spray with release fluid beforehand. Use direct heat on those nuts that do not come off and then replace fasteners.
If all else fails nothing beats an angle grinder with cutting disc!
I would be interested to no how you get on with the DPF clean!
How long has exhaust been on?

ive got some realease fluid in shed so will prob soak bolts hour or so before i start , the car is 05 plate saab 1.9 tid 150,so been on for a while no doubt there will be lots of swearing and bleeding knuckles, do you think i will need gasket paste when re-fitting? ive read a few threads on cleaning the dpf ,basicaly blast water through till it runs clean ,but no one has explained weather they have used gasket paste or not ,il update my findings on here after ive done it

All my older mechanic mates swear by it. Won't touch anything else. Not sure what is different about it to other release fluids, but it works.
