Double locking/unlocking

just tried this on my 53 plate GSi, held the UNLOCK button on the key and pressed/held the door lock button......no beep but all the windows went down!
What am I doing wrong?

You're probably doing nothing wrong, other than expecting it to work on a car that's too old for it to work.

IIRC, this didn't come into play until sometime mid to late 2004. Your car might be just outside the age range for it to have been fitted. Same as the auto lock doors.

I had a Jan 04 registered 53 reg Elegance and neither worked on mine either.

I've tried this with my Signum for the locking and locking and it doesnt seem to work....

open the keyfob and check if the lock button is still working... it probably needs replacing, buttons can be bought cheaply of eBay as a repair kit, all you need to do is de-solder the old one and solder the new one on.

If it fails to work, then key in ignition and turn until you get the dash lights, then press the lock/unlock buttons on the fob. Successful resyncing will result in the central locking operating.
