Thread: What are these plugs for (front of engine bay)

    Default What are these plugs for (front of engine bay)

    Im trying to find out why my cars acting a bit funny and in order to do so i need to learn what the rectangular and round plugs are used for at the front left of my engine bay:

    Any ideas?

    Trim : Elegance/Elite

    Engine : 2.0DTi

    Year : 2003

    Mileage : 73350

    Hi thom , the round plag as you call is infact the vacuum balance valve and the square plug is your power connector for the second vacuum actuattor .
    I take it this is from a 2.2 dti or a 2.0 without the tps manifold
    If as above then you dont need them as you dont have a tps fitted to your manifold
    Driving vauxhall,s for 30 + years
    and still loving it

    Cheers it is infact a 2.0 dti - causing me plenty of grief i might add, pleased to know theyre not needed, thanks! Reassures me somewhat.

    Your vacuum setup , and how its connected to the manifold
    also the vacuum balance valve that i mentioned in my first post you do need it as it serves as a kind of waste gate , what i should of said was with a duel actuattor setup there linked together .

    its the same engine as mine and they plugs are spare. i asked the same question last week . why is yours giving you grief?
