My Pioneer & Reverse Camera Fitted

Well I managed to get my reverse camera fitted up. I can't get it to come on when I select reverse for some reason, but that may have something to do with my Pioneer has it's own Pioneer camera port for a reverse camera. I have to press AV2 to access my rear camera. The main thing is it works and I can see better, so my girlfriend can see better when parking my pride and joy up . The quality is good, easy to fit. I am just wondering if I can get around having the camera come on when I hit reverse gear. The Pioneer port for the reverse camera is not the usual RCA port as it's a plug, so thats made things tricky. Pioneer wanted people to buy the camera from them, to make more money by the looks of it . Video of my camera below....

forgot to add the reversing wire? since it didnt change on its own?

I don't have one mate. This Pioneer has it's own Pioneer Camera section fitted thats run through a plug. The way I have this on mine now is through the AV2 RCA port. This is what Pioneer say about the port for the main camera from Pioneer...

Well I just went and read the manual my car radio came with from in the box as I was reading the one they do online. The one online was not very good at telling you about the reverse camera. The hand manual has helped me loads. Two things I need to do tomorrow now are, take the radio out. Join the reverse gear signal imput wire Violet/White wire up to my reverse camera . It had one all the time, online manual was poop. I also need to join up my Car Speed Signal Imput wire for my nav while I am on it.

The car speed pulse is for 1 main thing,... turn up the volume ..


(dont think its used the the normal thing.. as keeping the car at right track without gps connection)

I know it should have reverse wire as my brother has the same radio in his.. (he dont have rear camera (yet))

Lol, I had a feeling it might have had one but my radio is a ***** to remove so I was not going to bother. I need to take my time with it tomorrow now when removing my head unit. My manual says the speed signal is important for the nav, it's more accurate to have it connected. Well I will be having fun tomorrow now. What wire do I join up to the Reverse Gear Signal Imput? Is it the red wire coming from the Yellow RCA lead? The other one is just an earth at the rear of the car. Cheers

Link below for the cameras, it took about 3 weeks from Hong Kong but thats with the Xmas hold ups. You can get them in the country also, you just need to be lucky to catch a seller listing them.
