Default cdti 150 2008 auto 38k starting problems

Car is as in title, over the last week the car has developed a kind of missfire when cold, the revs jump about 400 rpm for about 10 seconds and then it clears and the car runs fine. While doing it the engine is also very noisy sounding like its about to die. I'm stuck with this as its only when the car is cold.

Anyone got any ideas what could be the cause?

no its an elite, and no lights on the dash to suggest a problem either. i was also thinking first point of call may be changing the glow plugs but trying to keep my own opinions on the cause out of the thread to see what others think without me suggesting my own theories.

If you have a ohms meter you can test them in, if not whip them out & use a battery charger or the car battery. If you haven't done this before beware ''they do get very hot'' so don't touch them till there cool again, Give the injector connectors a wiggle when its happening its just something to try, There's a how 2 for plug/wiring replacement if required.
