Starting problems

Being having loads of trouble over the past few months with the car not starting. The engine managment light is on. It gives p1015 error which i believe is to do with the egr? Would this cause the car to not start? All i get is a clicking sound.

Its Vectra 2003 1.8 petrol

Sounds like you need to replace your battery.

Ok had AA come out to check the car they replaced the battery and I have had a new alternator fitted. But the cars voltage averages around 11-12 when under load. Wiring has also been checked. Any ideas what else could cause this??

Incorrect alternator or its faulty.

They have changed the alternator for me and it is still doing the same thing. When under load it drops to around 11-12v. Any other ideas?

take it its an after market alternator? the vecs dont seem to like non genuine alternators

Yeah it is, I thought it was only the facelift that didn't like them? Mine is an 03

the vectra's use denso alternators, the CDTI does anyway. When I got mine replaced last month I plumped for a RTX one. I have resigned myself to the fact that if it goes wrong, it's getting up rated to a 120A-hr.
