Default Oil catch tank mod query?

    Hello all,

Im looking to fit a catch tank to reduce the amount of oil into the manifold but cant decide wether to use a closed loop system or vent to atmosphere?? Read posts about MOT faliures??

Also, if the oil vapour is the cause of the egr/manifold problems and the breather is finished off by sending it back through the air intake, why doesnt the air filter/MAF get covered in this sticky residue??????

Hi I have just fitted a closed loop oil catch tank to my 2.2, I had to do it this way as by trying to put the pipework to bypass putting it back to the throttle body it did not tick over correctly.
The way i fitted it was to take a pipe to the oil catch tank then back to the ventalation valve on top the throttle body, as the catch tank was mounted on the right side of the engine I had to turn the ventalation valve around to get the pipework fitted.

venting to atmos is an mot failure, so if you go down this route... make sure it's back standard in time for the test

It get's fed in at its original point, all your doing is cutting into the cam breather and fitting a tank in line.
