Default Fitting rear view camera to double din Pioneer

Has anyone done this on here? I have a rear view camera coming from Hong Hong that fits into the number plate light, so it looks factory fit. It's for my Pioneer AVIC-F930BT double din head unit. I would like info on how to fit it ie how you get the wires through the car and what cables to wire it up to. I would think it will need to be wired up to some sort of reverse wire for the camera to come on the screen? My Pioneer has a main camera connection for a camera, but for a Pioneer camera (different wiring) but I will probably not be using that part and using the video in part instead. Any info would be great. Thanks

The camera that you have ordered will fit your number plate light so run the cables through the hole then the rubber grommet that behind the bumper you need to connect the two wires from the camera one to the reverse light and one to the earth. They run the lead from the camera to the head unit a yellow RCA and you need to run the trigger lead from the head unit to the reverse light + so when you put the car in reverse the screen will change from what it was showing it took me about 45 mins the hard part is running the wires from the head unit to the back of the car

Cheers, do you know the colour of the wires you used for the reverse part? My camera should be with me soon. Did you remove the full back bumper to do this? The only part I am stuck on now is the trigger wire from my Pioneer head unit. I don't know if I have one as my Pioneer has it's own camera port, not a yellow video RCA. I have a yellow RCA on my Pioneer that will do but the Pioneer had it's own camera section. This is what my Pioneer has on the rear...

You don' t need to take the bumper of once you take the light out push the wires through the hole then get on your knees look under the bumper you will see where the cables for the number plate light go through the grommet so just push them through the same hole I forget what colour the wire's that I tapped in to but the wires for head unit would be different to my head unit as my head unit was a kenwood but it's the same way how you wire the camera up if you look at the how 2 's there one that shows you how to fit a camera ok

My camera came today. I have the camera working but not off hitting reverse gear. I have to press the video 2 button on my system for the camera. I also wired it up to the rear light and selected reverse gear while I had the radio on and nothing happened. I went into my video 2 settings and I had no rear camera showing up, I then selected reverse gear and on popped the video camera. So the only way I can have my rear camera on is by linking both sides up to lives and pressing the video 2 button everytime I want to reverse. It means I can watch the traffic while I am driving behind. I would have liked it to be on when reverse gear was selected but my Pioneer has a different camera port for Pioneers own reverse camera, must mean I am stuck with it the way it is. What I also did was join the live up from the camera and join it to the red wire coming from the yellow RCA lead in the boot area as they both needed a live feed anyway, so I let them share one live. Is that what you lot did?

    Wiring:
Yellow RCA lead front and rear with lives (Red) coming from Yellow RCA leads each side.
Power lead coming from camera - Live and Earth from power cable Red & Black wire
Red RCA & Yellow RCA from camera, red is power lead side

What I did was joing power lead from camera in the boot to the live wire coming from the Yellow RCA, joined the Yellow RCA leads together in boot. Reds in boot all joined together. I then ran a full lenth of wire to the front of the car and joined the live to the Aux/Cig socket live. I then joined the earth up to the Auc/Cig socket. The Yeallow RCA lead from the camera to the front of the car I joined to my Video port on my Pioneer. The red live wire from that I also joine to the Aux/Cig socket. Is this right? The camera came with no instructions lol
