    Default sniff test for the gsi tomorrow

    as title says im going to buy a sniff test tomorrow
    new year eve was just about to leave for manchester but thought i might check the oil so checked it full of mayo so heart sunk to my toes told the wife we are going to have a big bill soon and went to get ****ed to forget about it.

    the car doesnt use any water never goes anywhere over 90'c on temp so neverheats

    Prob just as easy to go to local garage and ask them to use exhaust probe to test for gases. As those sniff testers are a bit hit and miss.

    Does it have an oil cooler? Could be that rather than head

    not sure about oil cooler i would expect it to have one
    how could the exhaust probe test check it

    Put the probe into coolant bottle if exhaust gases are present it will register on the machine.

    i suppose its worth just calling up to the garage where i get mot's done see if they will quickly test it for me.

    Bet it was in the filler kneck mate they all do it remove the kneck and it gets rid of the codesaation that's all it is

    yes all the neck the oil cap and by the looks of it its started to drip in to the engine.
    i cleaned it all yesterday and ive just been reading a thread about the filler neck causing this.
    still going to get the test done for piece of mind.

    Take the kneck of mate the put the cap back on the block

    thats on my todo list if the weather is ok tomorrow as well as check all the breather pipes clean or replace thats only if the sniff test comes back as clear
    dont know why vx put that plastic kneck on if it does that ive allways been told to stay clear if the oil cap has mayo on it so you can imagine how i felt like when i seen it

    Yep it happened on my dads old 3.2 and removed the fillet cap all was fine mate
