what does this mean on my service sheet?

Hi,

Had the wife's car serviced and for the second time the words 'front o/s, n/s drumsticks have excessive play'.

Any clues on what these are????

I'm no expert but if the drop links had excessive play in them wouldn't you hear them rattle when driving over bumps, had two go on my old vec b rattled like mad changed them and cured the problem only seemed to be the off side ones that went though dont know why

they mean the track rods (not the rod ends!!) also know as rack ends etc its defo not the droplinks. i never knew why a professional establishment would put such a stupid sounding name on a customers service sheet

The " drumsticks " are the tie rods/track rods they are part of the steering rack mechanism. The tie rods/track rods are the bars that stick out of each end of the steering rack and allow for movement within the steering/suspension systems....
