    We have a Sony Ex713 40" LED.
Very good TV in my opinion, but I dont dig too deep into the minute details.
Depends on your budget and what games you play.
Some TV's have a small lag in displaying the picture and this MIGHT lead to problems playing fast games.

So many factors to first consider
    What type of viewing purpose?
How far will the seating position be from the screen?

For a screen up 40" look at LED
For a screen greater than 40" only look at Plasma

I have no idea what model TVA we've got but got Samsung LCD on bedroom and LED in the front room. And it's defiantly better playing ps3 on the LED 1.

Is your Xbox full hd? if so make sure tv is full hd as the difference is night and day. We have 2 42" LCD tvs ones an lg and the other a cheaper acoustic solutions which is up in my wee lads room for the Xbox but the lg does have slightly better picture quality in standard form

That was true about 10 years ago; nowadays you'll be throwing away a tv because it's so old that you want the next best thing, long before you have issues with plasma life expectancy.

If you're going to be watching fast moving pictures, whether that's games or action movies, get plasma. If you won't, then go by cost.
