    Default Blower trouble.

Hi my blower only works on 2 & 3 with the dial and 4 with the button, 0 & 1 setting is the same no air flow but slight noise from motor area. I have taken out heat resitor and i think its working as it gets hot, if i unplug it the fan only works on 4 with the button. I have also checked the relay (the blue one) if i take this out only works on 4 with the button. and i have taken out the controls and cleaned the contacts with cleaner still no joy, i have two spare 240c thermal fuses if i need to change it but like i said it gets hot so im guessing it still working. I have looked through old posts but they all seem to have different simtoms, any help is very greatful.

That's what happened to mine, I didn't notice setting 1 had failed and eventually 2 failed

First, check the pollen filter is not blocked
Whilst you are there, clean the inside edge and remove any debris

If a new pollen filter is required, recheck
If setting 1 is still not working replace the resistor pack

Have had a play with the dial took it apart cleaned all brass conectors and pins still no joy, took it apart down to the brass pick up part with 4 lugs/flaps on it they are making contact with the backing brass plate. have also turned the housing part of the dial (the back part that holds the brass selectors and white dial part) all the way round both ways still only two fan speeds. so im still stumped.

    Default Found the problem

It was the main control board on the fan speed side there is two mirco switches (see photo's the black parts.) at 4 oclock and 8 oclock these little ******s turn the fan off (8 oclock switch) and full speed (4 oclock) bridged the 8 oclock switch and the fan turned off, bridged the 4 oclock switch and the fan run at full speed. Now to get a new/second hand one.
