    Default immobiliser i think?

    is it fuel pump or starter that the immobiliser controls?

    It effectively controls the lot these days - centre of it's attenton is probably the ECU I imagine.

    Possibly but you have mentioned in the other threar that the clutch has been replaced, so the starter motor has been removed then reconnected incorrectly?

    Thatchem has to cut both fuel and ignition, the vectra has this system. A simple abs plug fault can also stop the car from cranking,(especially pre 54 plates) nothings simple these days im afraid.

    immobiliser definately stops it even cranking over on vecs, I recently tried a known working spare engine ECU on mine and it wouldn't even crank over (I'd forgot about the immobiliser, DOH!) put the original one back on and it fired up.

    reading your other thread sounds like an important connector's been left off or a couple have been cross-connected when the clutch was changed
