Zaffy cdti 150 2010 ?

Hi all and happy new year!

I am buying a zaffy as the family car for the missus, i drive a 08 veccy cdti 150.
I dont know wheather to buy the 1.7 cdti or the 1.9 150 cdti elite. are the problems with the 150 cdti cured. the zaffy is a 2010 1.9 cdti 150, a bit worried about inlet manifold etc. the 1.7 cdti is a 2011 but 110 bhp and few toys
I would be greatful for some advice.

What will she be using it for? Unless big miles are on the agenda, I'd run away from from a 150, factor in a VVT 1.8 petrol might be a grand less too...

It will be doing about 25k a year, going to and from work

The issues with the CDTI were addressed in 2007 so they shouldn't be much of a problem The EGR valve can still be the problem when it wants to but there is a way round that one. If you're doing lots of town driving then I don't recoomend diesels but on the motorway it should be fine. Also these two deisels will probably be equipped with a DPF too.

No problem, if you're removing the DPF take the crappy EGR valve with it.

i,ve got the last 150 vectras 2009 had it nearly 2 years now not a bit of bother not like my 2006 one and mpgs are 50,s most of the time so looks like engine troubles have been sorted

My veccy is a 2008 cdti 150 , I have a 109 k miles o the clock. The engine still runs like new but I have done mainly motorway miles. I service it evey 9 k.
Saying that the altenator, flywheel and cruise control were replaced at 50k
