Default Remapped CDTI vs 3.0 V6 CDTI

Ive read in the past that a remapped 150 CDTI is better than a stock V6 CDTI but having never driven a V6 or a remapped 150, I Don't know if this is the case. Can anyone advise on how they differ in power delivery, performance etc.. and which (in your opinion) is the better motor? I'm only asking as I don't really like the feel of my facelift CDTI 150 and am wondering if a remap (along with other tweaks) would make me a happy bunny or if I should flog it and find a low milage preface V6 CDTI.

    Depends on what you like
They sound and perform quite differently

If you can find a low mileage Y30DT then go for it; no DPF to worry about
They are holding their value very well
Mine is still at £3000 where my previous Vectra B at this mileage was down to £1100

However you already own a 1.9 CDTI so you would be better sticking with that (I don't see the sense in effectively downgrading to an older car)

If I'm messing with engines it's remap rather than box for me. Besides, the EGR needs mapping out.

On a side note, do you happen to be the same critch thats a member of Jims Beer Kit forum? Seems too much of a coincidence for there to be 2 of you both in the Liverpool area.

my facelift 1.9 cdti sri has been mapped and has the same horse power but what the 0-60 or the differance is i dont know. I would guess the 1.9 would be faster as its lighter but that is a guess so 3.0 v6 owners dont shoot me down. I love mine

cough, shouldn't that be 177bhp or did that only apply to the 2005MY ?
Also, that's the hatch/saloon for 0-60 and vmax

Yip, that was the winner for me, so much easier to drive and overtake without any effort
When you want to give it beans it does so
Changing 6th gear to 3rd to overtake, then back to 6th is just so much fun...
Equally, when you don't want to give it beans it will still overtake in 6th gear (whereas in previous 4 cylinders cars I have HAD to change gear)
