rear door wont open

hi guys,my rear door will not open on my signum,sometimes on second click it realeses but u cant open it any ideas ?

No, new exterior boot handle. The handle has a ball bearing under it that triggers a microswitch, the ball bearing gets gummed up and won't move. Buy a new handle from Vx, about £17, it has a newer design that doesn't have the ball bearing.

It can be cleaned up with WD40 and made to work again. Remove the rubber cover then just clean it up with WD40.

The rubber cover is a bit of a faff on to get back in place with the use of a small flat blade screw driver. But it can be done as I have done mine twice.

They generaly stick when it turns cold and damp.

Just had the tailgate refuse to unlock on the 'zapper'. All other doors working OK. Big problem is - how do I unlock it manually to get at the lock bits and pieces. (Managed to get dogs out thro' back door - phew !!)

Look for a manual unlock mechanism on the inside of the tailgate - should look like a slot for a screwdriver to go into and you turn it.

But if you are reffering to the "Rear Door" (as posted in topic title) then I think it will mean having to get the door surround off in order to get access to the locking mechanism inside the door to try open it. Then I guess you'll have to either replace the locking mechanism unless the fault is easily identifiable/repairable

Thanks for your help, mate. My Siggy is a face-lift model ('07) and there is no sign of any lock/keyhole etc. on the inside. I seem to remember that one of the number plate lights comes into the plot - anyone any ideas on this, please.

look at thebottom middle of the tailgate trim in the boot and there may be a rubber grommet
if there is pop this out and the unlock mechanism is behind this
