    Default P0234 Error Code Definition

    hello guys

can someone tell me for sure what the error code above means

    the full description is

    ( P0234 Boost Pressure Control Circuit Positive Deviation ( 11 ) Present )

now is this overboost or underboost ??

may have found the problem for the error code P0234 on my car

its hopefully going to be the

    boost pressure control valve
    wastegate actuator

depends on the answer for the code

Basically what happens is the boost sensor cannot give an accurate reading usually because it is covered in crud . The ecu then generates an overboost fault ,causing the engine to shut down to protect itself .
All easily cured by cleaning the boost sensor , just spray the sensor tip with carb cleaner to clear Dont scrub the sensor as its easily damaged.
May well be worth your while cleaning the egr while your there as its rare for one to need cleaning and not the other.
