Help with alloy wheel colour!

Hi Everyone,

Need some opinions here.

I put a thread in the styling section asking if I should refurb my wheels in Anthracite or Gloss Black.

I'm now having my reservations. The wheels are SRI XP2 wheels and they shall be fitted to a Flame Red Preface SRI. At the moment it has the original SRI wheels painted Gloss Black.

Are the XP2 wheels too nice style wise to hide? If painted black the detail of the wheels will be lost. Would silver look just as good against Flame Red paint.

What do you reckon?

Stu i think leave them silver . they are a much sort after wheel .think Bobsignum did his black but painted them back to silver . khalid

I'd say definitely not black - it loses the shape of them.

I would definitely think about doing them in a light anthracite, or dark titanium colour. In fact, I'm tempted to do that with mine!

i have my xp2 wheels in getting painted was thinking about sapphire black but decided against it so i told the painter to get them as bright as he could to try and make them stand out a bit

The poll and opinions are echoing my thoughts. As Kahlid said they are sought after wheels and painting them black would hide the detail and also make them look smaller. My preface SRI wheels look a lot smaller now they are black.

I bought the 18" wheels to fill the arches better and to look better too!

Dark/black wheels just look either dirty or steel wheel when in motion.
