    Default Replacing door stays

    Hi all,

Is it just as easy as taking the door card off and undoing the bolt and 2 nuts to get the door stay out from inside of the door?

I'm asking as my drivers door one is creaking badly and no amount of 3 in 1 seems to help!

    Cheers.

Have you tried the fix? It can be done without removing the door card. Theres a how-to somewhere on here.

Edit : Here's the link - take about 5 minutes to do. Don't oil it! http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=132882

    Oiling it is/was your problem.

In the service book it does say not to oil/grease them.

Have a look in guides section as it shows you that you can rotate the stay so its rolling on the other nylon roller.

I was sceptical about this fix when I first got my Signum - however all I can say is that it was the easiest fix I have ever done. 10 mins and silence returned! Thanks to the How 2 here.

I turned mine around, only for the cracking noise to appear again 2 months later. Must get around to replacing it sometime.
