    confused 1.8 VVT crankshaft position sensor location?

    Alright men, got me sensor today but it wasnt what i was expecting, and therefor i have no idea where the hell to fit it. This is the correct part for sure. Part number 55555806, Anybody any the wiser here?

    according to tha manual Dan the crankshaft position sensor is positioned on the front of the cylinder block below the oil filter , it says you may have to jack the car up to get at it and it also says you will need a new sealing ring , just look like you unscrew it disconnect the wiring and screw the new one back in

    yes sorry mate i thought you meant camshaft sensor , but then i read your post again and saw you wanted crank , so thats it what i posted , thats the crankshaft sensor , it says to use correct torque setting as well not sure how important that is

    haynes one dan , 55 plate to 58 plate , green one , £20 from halfords , covers the vvt

    Also, i was under the impresion the cam and crank sensors are at the end of the camshafts, on the right hand side near the battery. Does the haynes mention it, it is a vvt btw

    for the CAMSHAFT position sensor it says its on the end of the cylinder head on the cambelt side , you have to take the cambelt top cover off to see it and 2 bolts hold it in place , the CRANKSHAFT sensor is like what i said above , its under the oil filter bolted to the block , it does not show a pic of the CRANKSHAFT sensor but it shows a pic of the CAMSHAFT sensor and it does look a little bit similier to what you have on the pic although i can only see the bit which bolts to the cylinder head , they may of given you the camshaft sensor instead of the crankshaft sensor but cant be sure , but according the manual thats were they are positioned dan
