    Default EDS Remap

Hi all, I'm close to purchasing the EDS IPF from direct from Germany. I've chosen this map since on the Regal website it states that the cleaning cycle of the DPF is increased in frequency and therefore shouldn't cause it any problems. Has anyone got this map on their auto/dpf vectra with any feedback? Also, the v-max speed limiter is removed, so how far beyond 135mph would she pull? Cheers.

Speed wise it probably won't do much more. Why not have the DPF mapped out and removed?

The Astra 1.9CDTI was limited to 125mph but the Vectra was never limited. The cruise control only goes to 135mph after that you need to use your foot to go faster but I would expect little if any more from the EDS stage one remap. So the limiter removal claim is only relevant to the Astra and if they are saying it is relevant to the Vectra, they are wrong (knowingly or otherwise). It is a very effective map with no increase in boost pressure, so kind to the turbo. 185-190bhp is the norm though 200+ will be claimed wildly. Buy dirrect from EDS in Germany will get you the box faster and about £150 cheaper with the same support from Germany.

I have the EDS map after much searching around and I can tell you it turned my 2.8 into an animal! The difference was immense!

Plus you have the benefit of your own tuning system linked into your laptop with a choice of map options! Fantastic bit of kit and not a bad price either. Not sure what it would do to your engine but out of all of the options vs price vs functionality I highly recommend it

I am selling my EDS box btw! So if it saves you to just buy a license and re-programme mine it might be worth a look

I saw a video on YouTube which showed a Vectra C with apparently nothing more than a phase 1 EDS map, EGR deleted and V-max removed topping 240km/h. Not that I'm intending to go that fast on UK roads, but was simply curious ; [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH7qdYdRR4E"]Vectra C 1.9 CDTI Z19DTH EDS 240 km/h - YouTube[/ame]

I'm assuming the auto box in the vectra can handle 300lbs of torque?

The auto box will handle it and you will likely get around 300lbft from the remap but that video is just not real. I managed 148.4 on the GPS with a stage one EDS map, and tuning box on the Autobahn. That was running 220bhp, so unless they were going down a very steep hill then their clocks must be out by 5-10% or more (10% would be 135mph).

is the eds map worthwhile for the money in your experience? or is there better, im also looking to go for a hybrid turbo etc in the near future and are there further map options to suit?

i have very nearly bought it several times since i got paid, getting it direct from eds but went for bigger brakes instead

I have been using the ED system for a few years now on my Astra's (first on a 120 1.9 and now on the VXR). Its an ausom bit of kit IMO.

On the derv it turned the car into an animal and let me give stadard vxr's a fright off the line as the tourque was lifted so much.

I mapped out the EGR using the kit and a home made blanking plate but never felt it ran as well doing this. Instead I ran it with the EGR working with the cleaning cycles working more often and found the car smoked less than it did when I ran the car on a DTUK box. It did still smoke but not as much.

The EDS maps make a big performace and hybrid maps are available but they do not make their stated gains. I don't think there is a better remap available in terms of reliability than the EDS as it leaves max boost levels untouched.

If you actually want a car that will beat a standard VXR, you will need alot more than just a remap.
