Default 3.2 gsi knocking noise from the engine bay

I noticed it knocking about 6 months ago so I decided to change the cam belt and tensioners the noise persisted so I then changed the water pump and it's still there it can only be heard on tick over and is not always there it's loud enough to be heard at the traffic lights I've read another thread on this but there was never an answer posted

Aux tensioner feels alright and I'd have to check the tappets and valves I think it's more of a rattle but everyone describes these noises differently I'm thinking the worst either big ends or fly wheel

If its the flywheel then the noise will change when you depress and release the clutch pedal.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Big end is is usually a deep nock/ rumble

And can be heard under load aswel.

Is a possibilitie of being main bearings.

Can you run the engine briefly with aux belt off and see if eliminates the noise

Big ends don,t rattle, they RAP!!!/KNOCK!!!, LOUDLY when you rev the engine up. In severe cases the ECU/Engine management will back the ignition timing right off " thinking it is fuel detonation " and put the EML on....

With " Big end & Main bearing failure " there would be issues with LOW OIL pressure, the oil pressure warning light may " flicker " whilst the engine is idling, or at worst come on and stay on!!!
