    Talking Newbie!!

    Hi everyone,

I am a new member to Vectra-C.com, I've been coming on here for a while having a look about the best model to buy etc. I picked up my new car a few weeks ago, its a 2.2direct SRI 06plate with 10k miles, which I got for £10995 from Arnold Clark! What does everyone think of that engine? I would of preferred the diesel, but was restricted as I wanted a face lift and didn't have much more money!

My mate has a preface lift Vectra 2.2direct - what differences is there? Only things I have spotted are:

Mine doesn't have a anti dazzle mirror
Mine doesn't have a air vent in for the back seat passengers
And my screen is different (his is the orange type) - does anybody know if mine will warn you about bulbs being out or washer bottle fluid low etc etc??

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Dr. Direct!

the most noticeable differences are the revised suspension settings and the 2.2 is a great engine, very under-rated in my opinion..

and yes, your display will still give you 'minor' fault warnings..

The spec's were forever changing.. as the years went on VX robbed more and more out of them... now with the facelift they've put a bit back, like chrome heater rings, but it's spot the part differences.. there is no definative listing..

    Welcome to the site mate

I have the 2.2 (but non-direct) and have to say it's bomb proof. Can find little fault with it TBH.

I used to have a 2.2 and as Mark said, its very under-rated. I loved my 2.2 petrol...

Facelift has a better interior quality finish than the pre-facelift (in my opinion) but usually has less gadgets... as vauxhall did a cost cutting excercise. Suspension and handling is supposed to be better on the facelift.

    Enjoy
