Hello dear y30dt owners,
I have searched the google for my unanswered questions, and so far, this looks the best place to ask them.
Please understand that i'm from Latvia, and english is not my native language and there could be some mistakes.
I bought my Vectra C y30dt this summer (2005.07 year and month of production) kind of fully equipped. As far as of this month everything was just perfect and i really love the car.
So one early morning, just after some 2 or 3 miles in the city traffic, i got the warning light in the dashboard, the car went into the safe mode. It happened when i was standing still in idle revs. As temperatures this winter is not very cold (about 0 per celsius) i warm car approximetly 3min. I drove till the work, and later after 10 hours still the check engine light was on and car was not working fine. I could not know what happened, so i went to dealers next morning. They found a mistake P0105 - which is - NOT PRESENT BOOST PRESSURE SENSOR CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE. They told me that the problem was in turbine overpressure sensor plug-in, as it was a bit tarnish, they cleaned the contacts and let me go.
So i went for something like 150 miles, and the warning light came on again. Again it was morning and when teh car is not fully warmed, and on idle revs, while i was standing in the traffic jam. I went straight to the same dealers. The mistake was the same P0105. But this time they told me that some turbine vaccum valve is not holding the vaccum, so it needs to be changed, but it comes along with whole turbocharger and it should be changed (approximetly 3000,00 GBP). At the moment the fault code was deleted and i could drive again.
I was really not going to buy a new turbocharger for sure. I found out, that used turbocharger could cost at about 300,00 GBPs at most.
I went to one recommended workshop. They also told me that the turbine vaccum valve is not holding the vaccum. But when i told that i have the check engine light only on idle revs, they were surprised, and told that they not guarantee that this is the problem. They say that the problem should go on when i will try to overtake someone on the highway and the revs are high. But i have never felt any problems on overtakes.
Later on that week i went to some recommended turbocharger specialist. He told me that my turbocharger is at very good condition, and that the fault im getting is not related to any vaccum valve, as my turbo is working fine on any conditions.
So at the moment i get this fault more often. Only when the car is running its first ~5 minutes. If it not comes on on first 5 minutes, then it will not come on till the end of the drive.
Does someone else with y30dt have encountered such a problem.
What should be the usefull thing to do?
Put a new (other - used) vaccum valve or search a problem with some sensors and wiring.
Any usefull tip or advise will do.
