Crunching noise +ARB bushes

Hi everyone,

There is a horrible crunching noise coming from the front of my vectra when I take bumps and today, when I checked the ARB bushes there seems ok although you cant really tell like this. There is no free play in the ARB link rod ball joint neither.

I would like to change them anyway as it's apparently the most common reason for this crunching noise. There is not much space to access the bolt though and wonder whether its possible to replace them without dropping the the subframe?

i checked the driveshafts and there is a free play in both the left and right one, do you think the noise could come from this rather than the ARB bushes?

Also, can anybody tell me what size are the bushes i have got installed on the car, I couldnt see completely the ref number so i only noted the last 6 digit: Front ****131232; Rear ****457385.

I'd deffo say the noise is arb bushes mate.
And at about a fiver for the pair it's worth changing anyway to be sure.

I don't think play in drive shafts will do it tbh
Play would probably give you vibrations during acceleration

Just done mine - there is a how to in the how 2 section. Tight, but can be done without dropping the subframe with a bit of patience.

Thanks a lot guys, much appreciated. Just ordered the 10mm ratchet spanner for the job and will go to my dealer for the bushes tmrw.

Fit the bushes first ,see how you go,they are easy to change should the need arise.
