    Default 37 Oil Changes

    Right, here's the plan:

Vauxhall sell barrels of longlife super synthetic 5w30 dexos2 oil, which contains 205 litres, for £648 including vat. That's the tradeclub price, so available to many of us including me. It's suitable for petrol or diesel engines btw. All we need is 37 people to do an oil change on their cars and it'll mean we're each paying only £17ish each plus the cost of a filter. Whose up for it? Yea you can get oil from Asda or tescos for that much or even less, but it's nowehere near the same quality. The GM Dexos2 stuff meets BMW and Mercedes oil standards.

No, I'm not serious, it'd never work, you'd get 4 people to sign up and whoever forked out for the barrel would get stuck with 180 litres, but it's a good theoretical plan, just a shame its impossible in practice.

5 litres of Dexos2 can be bought on ebay for £24; there is a saving to be had if enough people paid up front, but it's only £9 per head.
    still - 9 quid is 9 quid!

edit: or whatever it is - 7 quid then

Yea but if you needed another half litre it'd take it to £30+

Anyway, it's not a serious suggestion, you'd never get so many people involved, and even if 40 did sign up, half would get their misses' to phone in sick for them on the day lol

Hhmmm wonder what the mrs would say to a huge oil drum in the garden lol

I'm currently changing my oil every 3 months so this could be a worth while buy.

How much are you guys getting 5l on trade club?

As the dealer is used to go to was doing it for £18 but they've since closed and the next nearest one wants £36 :O

Now that's quite a lot since my car takes nearly 7 and half litres
