To add I only hear it when crawling and doing 10mph and less and I need to listen hard to hear it the way I would describe it is a metal on metal sound not squeaking more of a friction rough sound

    Thats what mine sounded like.

Turned out to be the inner pad on the rear worn right down.

Update The noise is getting worse now I can hear it on the outside of the car if I put the window down and driving slow I can't hear it at normal speeds it sounds like a rubbing and a squeak now with every rotation of my rear wheel any ideas I'm going to jack car up today and have a look then I'm booking it into vauxhall

Quite common to have noisey rear brake pads when cold
    Complete a journey and compare

Inspect the amount of brake pad material
The outside pads are easy enough to inspect visually, but the inside pads are not so easy

Equally, when releasing the handbrake there can often be a creak / bang noise as the inner rear pads release from the disc

Finally, how many miles have the pads done?

    Default

I get this noise almost every time when setting off after a cold night
I put this down to the brakes being hot when the handbrake is being applied and then curing to the disc overnight (chemical reaction)
Equally, it is very noticeable where I leave the car for more than 24 hours

This is a side effect of integrated rear pads and handbrakes
The previous cars I had which had separate shoes and handbrake, within the disc (such as the Vectra B) never suffered the issue
My previous Mondeo Mk3 was really bad for this

As above, how many miles are on the rear pads and discs?

I couldn't answer that they are the original ones when I bought the car back in July I am going to change the rear discs and pads as I have only just had a full service and mot and had the front pads changed then. I have just took it on a drive and even going slow I can still hear it rubbing the disc it's really annoying
