What are we generally looking at cost-wise for someone to do this and should we stick to competent VX mechs for this? I have a local 'does it all' garage do my car related works but is the V6 specialist enough that I should let someone more experienced do the plug change or should any decent mechanic be ok with this job?

I'm fairly competent at basic diy motor tasks but because it involves lifting the plenum and gasket areas I'm not willing to get in about it - I've always had a fear of them since I once bodged my first car head gasket change . My siggy has 77k on the clock now and according to SH has never had a belt chang - what does everyone think a belt change with plugs and water pump should cost using an independent non specialist garage?

i dont think they have to remove the plenum to do a cambelt change so its going to be a extra hour or 2 on labour after the cambelt change to do the plugs
i dont have any confedence in any local garages in blackpool for a cambelt change on my 3.2 and mine is going to be done in the next 6 mth as its due next year so im unsure what im going to do when its time to change cambelt

My worries as well mate. I know its not supercar territory, but wary of letting a general do-it-all mech loose on the engine.
