    Default de-badge advise pls

..... at about 9.30 this morning i had a great idea to de-badge the back of the car..... so armed with the miss`s hair dryer (you wouldnt believe the questions she asked.... you wont brake it, you can replace it if you do.... dont think its meant for that.... and on and on) off i went..... 9.45 no more mr Griffin but a shed load of glue and very dull paintwork....... 10.45 no more glue..... but i now have a lip/rim mark where the badge was and still some very dull paint.... used a little paint restorer and some polish but no effect anyone got any ideas?????

    Dazza ,

This may not help, but it has been listed here that hot water and a credit card also removes the griffin.

I never liked the idea of using a heat gun or hair dryer on my car.

I can only advise lots of cutting paste and good quality polish ....

If all else fails though, perhaps replacing the griffin will disguise any issues?

i had a similar mark on mine when i removed the rear griffin,

i bought a tube of ' hand rubbing compound ' from halfords for a few quid, got a soft cotton cloth and proceded to cut the paint on and around the dull part, this will take the paint ( solid or metalic ) back to a good base,
then use a good quality polish/wax to make her shine like new again, took about 20 mins in my case,
the beauty is that the rubbing compound can be used anywhere on the cars paint to remove small scratches in the laquer etc, then just polish it up

this process is known as ' mopping ' in a pro paint shop, i know this cuz my two brothers paint cars for a living

    as shown below

i did this within 24 hours of getting my new car, lol

    hope this helps
