    Default Biofuel timebomb (piston heads) Z22YH

    Hi guys, anyone else seen this news on piston heads?

    Any of you guys with the Z22YH should take note.

    Vauxhall:
    E10 petrol is cleared for use in all Opel-Vauxhall vehicles with petrol engines, excluding models with the 2.2-litre direct injection petrol engine, motor code: Z22YH (Vectra, Signum, Zafira).

    Thats Not new Ive knoen that for 2 years

    Its All the gaskets that dont like the ethanol

    for the diesel boys this will be good news less fuel pump failures and lower emissions not thatthat really applies to diesels but is a good barrel of laughs when teh mot tester cant pick up a reading .

    Hows that?

    Bio fuel is more corrosive than standard fuel and your CDTI 150 won't like it, leas of all pumpwise anyway let alone the seals as it lowers the lubricating factor in deisel fuel.

    As Gazza said, VX have already stated not to use it in CDTi's, I believe it might even be in the handbook.

    it only effects the 2.2 direct all other petrol engines seem to be fine according to piston heads http://www.pistonheads.com/news/defa...?storyId=24901 carnt see nothing about diesel tho. i know for me i will run it on normal fuel untill they stop selling proper unleaded that is by that time we will know if anyone has problems with the new fuel

    Hey some may already know this but i didnt till i saw the post on piston heads (always nice to share) so i thought i would.
    Anyway i would guess other parts of the world have different laws and biofuel targets. I know Australia have been running E10 for a while.
    I think for the time being it will only affect petrol cars really.

    All "normal" fuels are "only" E5 not a problem.
