Default Not impressed!! Oil change done but....

Well finally done my first DIY oil change, went ok but! First attempt at putting car on ramps ended in the ramps shooting forward, car dropped and cut into both sides of bumper on my xp trim

Then to top it off, changing fuel filter....... Been sent the wrong one!!!!! So that will have to wait for another day

It can be very difficult to get the car on the ramps. Thy quite often push the ramps forward.

Gutted mate. That's why I used jack an axle stand. Find the drive on ramps to dodgy.

Just to make you feel better a few year ago I dropped my clio off a four post lift. Now that wasn't good.

+1; drive on ramps destroyed my Alpina Splitter on my old beemer e34 525i sport, I even placed the ramps on rubber mats as I anticipated them moving forward...yet they still moved forward...I was gutted...and broke after I paid out for a new splitter

I once seen a work mate drive on to a 4 post ramp he hit the gas instead of the brake and the car went straight off the end and into a wall.

At least you know what to expect next time you change the oil and filter.

I remember seeing strips of rubber bolted to ramps long enough for rear wheels to be on thus holding ramps.
Small jacks are cheap these days but always use axle stands as well.

If i ever need to put my car on ramps i jack up each wheel, put the start of the ramp under neath each tyre then lower back down then drive up them. I have done what you have done before on my clio.

Many a time Wendy's had to put her life in my hands andbrace the ramp with her foot. Got to the stage I'd jack the car up, push the ramps under the tyre, add axle stands then gently lower it while I did the job.
