    Default White smoke and "missing"?

    Hi gents,
i cleaned the EGR. inlet manifold and the boost sensor on my 52 plate 2.0DTI vectra.

did this as it was dropping revs and trying to cut out. no white smoke at this point.

since cleaning i now have white smoke from the exhaust and the revs ar all over the place, feels like its being starved????

    any help please?

try having a look at the vac hoses and also check the boost hoses, look to see if there all connected up properly or if there are any spilts on them.

    update on this.......

    no more smoke now.
can get the revs to 3k then there is a sudden drop to 2.5k
on the small section of rubber pipe before the metal pipe leading to the turbo, there is some soot/carbon that seems to be coming from this rubber pipe, (pipe is about 3" in length) cant see a split but will take it off and inspect it,

White smoke on a diesel is usually unburnt fuel, therefore i would assume you have an injector fault... hence the "miss fire"

    dh.dti.....thanks.....don't have the smoke now.....

misfire, (probably best described as juddering when revs fluctuate) seems to have gone (almost).going to take pipes off tonight (if the wind promises not to rip the bonnet off)

not had a great deal of experience with engines so will repost tomorrow and let the forum offer any advice.
