    Default oil change

had the car now for nearly three weeks, but due to work it has been stuck on my drive.today i got the chance to twiddle with things and read the manual and noticed the oil percentage was at 13%.so bonnet up and the oil stick whipped out to show a very dirty oil .now the car is 6 months old with 5k on the clock,do people think that the main dealer should have checked this,or is it down to the punter buying a car to do a network q 114 point check in the showroom.cars going in on thursday anyway to fix some sort of box of tricks hanging down in the engine bay,so i will mention this and see if i get some sense (i doubt it,it is evan halshaws )

As it was a Network Q purchase you should have received a copy of the 114 Point Check Sheet
The oil is simply checked to ensure it is between the MIN and MAX

At 6K miles / 6 months old a service is not due, so would not be included
If you decide to do it, then it will be at your cost

Equally, at 6 months old the balance of the OE warranty applies, the Network Q warranty then applies when that expires
So check the documents and policy when you receive them

Personally, I would topup only, if required, using the highest specification oil as detailed in the handbook

that % indicator tells lies anyway ! my vxr has only done 4k since last jan and is already showing 23% , yet the oil is pretty much spotless and on the full mark
